As explained in the previous task, CallRail is going to be a very useful tool throughout your dental marketing journey. This is especially the case for an industry that relies so heavily on telephonic interactions to ensure new patient acquisitions. In this task we are going to integrate Google Analytics with CallRail to better track goal conversions.

Why Is This Important?

Data is power and in Marketing, the more data you have the more geared you are to make the best marketing decisions for your dental office. By integrating CallRail with Google Analytics, you are able to collect more detailed data on first time and repeat callers. This will also help you better track contact form submissions.

Integrate Google Analytics With CallRail

Step 1

Go to www.CallRail.com and log in with the account you created in the previous How-to.

Step 2

From here, click “Settings.”

Step 3

Under the Settings tab, select “Google Analytics.”

Step 4

Next, fill out your website URL (www.yourwebsite.com) and then, in the next step, we will find your Analytics tracking ID.

Step 5

In a new tab, open www.Analytics.Google.com and sign in using the email associated with your Google Analytics account.

Step 6

Select the “Admin” button on the bottom left of the menu.

Step 7

Go to “Tracking Info” and then down to “Tracking Code.

Step 8

The tracking code will begin with “UA” – copy this code, then back to your CallRail tab and enter it into the space labeled Google Analytics ID.

Step 9

Last, click “Activate.” You have now linked Google Analytics with CallRail!

Setup Goal Conversions

Goals are how the end success of campaigns are tracked, i.e., the amount of phone calls and contact form fills from a specific campaign.

Step 1

To set up Goals, open https://Analytics.Google.com and sign in with the email associated with your Google Analytics account.

Step 2

Navigate to the Admin tab at the bottom left of the menu.

Step 3

Find the section labeled “Goals.”

Step 4

Select “Import from Gallery.”

  • A popup window will open with a list of search results. 
  • Scroll to the bottom right corner of this pop up, and click “Go to Gallery.”

Step 5

A new tab will open up. Search for “PFDM

Step 6

You will see CallRail First-Time callers, Phone Calls. Select “Import.”

Step 7

In the configuration screen, select “All Web Site Data” below your website.

Step 8

Click “Create” to save the changes.

Step 9

Confirm the Goal is recording.
